Grouting

Grouting methods are known to effectively remediate the dam foundation. Seepage from the body and foundations of dams is one of the most important design parameters highly influenced by permeability. In addition, permeability is one of the basic parameters for designing grout curtains, preventing water from escaping from the foundation and avoiding negative seepage pressures in borrow materials used for grouting.

Grouting is a method through which the grout material is injected into the joints and cracks or voids of rock and soil formations, so that the engineering properties of these materials are improved by the decreased permeability, enhanced strength, and reduced deformability of the rock and soil formations. Ground condition and rock and soil properties are the most important factors in grouting process.
